Adult
1. Is this a club or can I just go on trips?
Living4Adventure is a private,
members-only adventure club. Our membership consists of singles, couples and
families. The only times you can attend trips without being a member is if you
are with a corporation that is doing a company-sponsored excursion or the
out-of-town guest of a member. Out-of-town guests are welcome to attend one trip
annually.
2. How much
does it cost?
We have an annual membership
fee. This fee is dependent on if you are a single/couple or family. This fee
is non-refundable and helps keep the costs of our trips affordable.
3. What are
the ages of your membership?
Our members span from
8 to 60 years of age. As long as you are physically capable
of participating in our activities we do not care how old you are. We limit the
minimum age for Kids4Adventure to 8 years, due to the mental capacities of
children.
4. I would
love to do water activities but I am not a great swimmer—can I still
participate?
Yes, you can still
participate, as you do not need to know how to swim. You are required to wear a
life jacket at all times during each activity.
5. I want
to go on a trip that involves camping, do I need to purchase a tent?
No, you can rent a tent for a
very reasonable fee. You can share the tent or rent one by yourself. You will
need to bring your own sleeping bag or blankets/quilt and a pillow.
6. What
happens if it rains?
We try to conduct all
scheduled trips. Due to our activities being outside we are at the discretion
of Mother Nature. We pay close attention to the weather channel and make a
decision at least a week before the scheduled event. We try to schedule the
rescheduled date as close as possible to the scheduled date.
7. Do you
provide private group trips?
Yes, we can accommodate
private requests for activities. Just contact a representative and they will be
happy to assist you.
8. Can I get a refund after I've signed-up if I decide not to
go?
In order to receive a full refund, you must inform the Living4Adventure office
that you're cancelling one week prior to the trip's departure. This gives us
enough time before the trip leaves to notify national parks, our vendors, and
others that our group is smaller than expected. If you notify us after this
date, we don't have enough time to adjust and will end up losing the money we've
paid for your spot.
If you decide you can't make a trip you've signed up for, and you notify us less
than 7 days before departure, there is a possibility that we will be able to
replace your spot with someone on the waiting list. This is NOT a guarantee.
We'll do our best, and if someone on the waiting list takes your place we'll
refund your trip fee. If no one takes your spot, your fees will once again be
forfeited.
9. How does the waiting list work?
For some trips, you can put your name on a waiting list if it's already sold
out. You don't have to pay unless a spot opens up. If one becomes available we
will use the email and phone number you left on the wait list to contact you; if
we have no luck, or don't hear back from you immediately, we will move down to
the next name on the list.
10. What if I arrive late for my trip?
Sorry, but we cannot wait. Plan ahead and prepare to be on time. We will email
you the time to meet and the location. Assume that your trip leaves at this time
and arrive early. Our trips must follow strict time schedules, and waiting for
one participant to arrive adversely affects the experience of all the others.
11. Do you rent gear?
Yes, we rent tents and other essential gear. Just call (240) 476 - 4479 or email
us what gear you need at:
keith@living4adventure.com .
12. If the weather's bad, will you cancel a trip?
Sometimes, it depends on how it will affect the safety of the trip. Don't assume
that a rainy forecast will mean the trips is cancelled. If we decide that the
risk of dangerous (not just rainy or cold) weather in the area is great, we will
notify all participants the day before the trip leaves; and everyone will
receive a full refund. If you don't show up
because the weather appeared uncomfortable, but the rest of the trip still takes
place, you will not receive a refund.
