Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Is there a membership fee?

No, but you will receive a membership number to recognize our members.  You will receive a membership number when you attend one of our adventure trips.

  1. How much does it cost?

Each trip has an associated fee, which varies based on the type, duration of the activity and if transportation is included or not.  We do not have an annual membership fee.

  1. I would love to do water activities but I am not a great swimmer – can I still participate?

Yes, you can still participate; you do not need to know how to swim.  You are required to wear a life jacket at all times during each activity.

  1. I want to go on a trip that involves camping; do I need to purchase a tent?

No, you can rent a tent for a very reasonable fee.  You can share the tent or rent one by yourself.  You will need to bring your own sleeping bag or blankets and a pillow.

  1. What happens if it rains?

We try to conduct all scheduled adventure trips.  Due to our activities being outside, we are at the discretion of Mother Nature.  We pay close attention to the weather channel and make a decision at least a week before the scheduled event.  We try to schedule the rescheduled date as close as possible to the originally scheduled date.

  1. Do you provide private group trips?

Yes, we can accommodate private requests for activities.  Just contact a representative and they will be happy to assist you.

  1. Can I get a refund after I have signed up; if I decided not to go?

In order to receive a full refund, you must inform the Living4Adventure office that you are cancelling one week prior to the adventure trip’s departure date.  This gives us enough time to notify national parks, our vendors and others, that our group is smaller than expected.  If you notify us after this date, we do not have enough time to notify our vendors and you will end up forfeiting the fee for the adventure trip.
If you decide you cannot attend the adventure trip, and you notify us less than 7 days before departure date, there is a possibility of someone on the waiting list to replace you.  If there is no one to replace you, then you forfeit the fee for the adventure.  If you are called from the waitlist, the first person to call back receives the seat on the adventure trip.

  1.  How does the waiting list work?

For some adventure trips, you can put your name on the waiting list if it is already sold out.  You do not have to pay unless a place becomes available.  If one becomes available, we will use the email and phone number you provided as your contact information.  Once you are called, you need to return our call as soon as possible to get the seat on the adventure trip.  We will keep calling those on the wait list until we get a replacement.  We do not have much time to find a replacement.  We will do our best to find someone so that your fee can be refunded.

  1. What if my child wants to bring a friend on a trip?

You are welcome to bring a friend for the same rate.  But the adult who brings the child is responsible for them.

  1. As a Parent, do I need to attend the activity?

Yes.  We offer adventures for the entire family or organizations that involve children in our Kids4Adventure program.  Kids4Adventure is intended to encourage family interaction as well as experiences for children that they would not necessarily experience.
