White Water Rafting is a challenging recreational activity using an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water. This is usually done on whitewater or different degrees of rough water, in order to thrill and excite the raft passengers. The development of this activity as a leisure sport has become popular since the mid-1970s. This activity is fun for all levels of experience.  From the novice to the experienced.  Whitewater Rafting is a great way to have a family work together in the raft and experience the unity of the family.

 

 

Paintball: is an exciting action participation sport that delivers an incredible adrenaline rush!  In its simplest form, paintball is a mix of capture-the-flag and chess played between two teams.  Each team (usually between seven and fifteen players) attempts to capture the opposing team’s flag, while avoiding being tagged with a “splat” or splash of washable “paint” (vegetable oil and food color).  The game is won by the team that brings the opposing team’s flag back to its own base, or by eliminating all opposing players from the game.  Can create friendly challenges such as, children against parents or women against men.  Your excitement level is so high that frequently you will not know, or care, who won until the game is over!  Let’s see who will win the next game?

 

Hiking: is an outdoor activity which consists of walking in natural environments, often on hiking trails. It is such a popular activity. The health benefits of different types of hiking have been confirmed in studies.  Shenandoah National Park has over 500 miles of trails, including 101 miles of the Appalachian Trail. Some trails lead to a waterfall or viewpoint; others penetrate deep into the forest and wilderness.  With such an abundance of trail options you will certainly be able to find something to fit your interest and ability. Maps have suggested ability descriptors. Whenever you hike be sure to wear sturdy shoes and take plenty of water.  Hiking is a great way to talk to your child without the distractions of TV, Internet and phone.

 


Jet Skiing: is loads of FUN and excitement to visitors of ALL AGES.  Providing top-of-line equipment and professional instruction/supervision to cruise around or open the throttle on 3+ miles of riding area, the place you don’t ride in circles! Our trip is available to everyone from the newest beginner to the salty veteran, a sure bet for a FUN-FILLED day on the water.

 


Snow Tubing:  100% fun with zero effort: enjoy all the fun of zooming down the perfectly carved lane and relax on the moving carpet as it conveys you and your tube back to the top.    You don't have to be an expert skier or boarder to have fun tubing: anyone can tube, even if you've never so much as set foot on snow bekiddie tubingfore!  It's fun for the entire family!  From the kids ages 5 and up to their grandparents, this is an inexpensive, fun way to pass the winter days.  There's even a separate kiddie tubing hill for children ages 4 and under.

 

Snow Boarding:  Let yourself go. Gravity will do the rest. 
It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out or willing to defy gravity; it’s all about the fun factor. And we’ve got plenty of it to share. Get your adrenaline pumping at the new Terrain Gardens mini parks, Whip Saw Terrain Trail, Pro Park, Rail Park & Kid Zones. Or challenge yourself as you work your way from green to black diamond on one of our well-groomed trails.  


VARIETY OF TERRAIN:
Beginner. Try Possum – one of Wisp's more famous trails. Ride this "beginners' dream" 1.5 miles over 10.6 acres of groomed corduroy.


More Difficult: Go Down Under and try the most popular trail on the East Ridge. This adventure includes skiing through a tunnel and is fun for the whole family.


Most Difficult: To feel the burn, you need to ski The Face. Moguls, moguls and more moguls – what else do we need to say?


Camping: is an outdoor recreational activity. The participants, known as campers, leave urban areas, their home region, or civilization and enjoy nature while spending one or several nights, usually at a campsite, which may have cabins. Camping may involve the use of a tent, a primitive structure, or no shelter at all.  Maryland beach camping. For the adventurous, there are camp sites in the forest and along the beach.  Each site has a fire ring and a picnic table. A few have water and electric. Most, however, are as nature designed them. Set up a tent and catch some fish for an exciting family dinner. The camping adventure will create lifetime memories for the kids.

 


Horseback Riding: is a unique trail riding experience inspired by the old west. Located in the George Washington national forests of the Shenandoah Valley your journey will take you on a unique wilderness adventure through this mountainous setting full of beautiful ridges, streams, valleys, and some of the highest elevations of the region. With nature at her best and wildlife abundant, one can only imagine what is around the next bend or just down the trail. Whether you choose half day, full day or the overnight package you will drift into the way it was done years ago.
