Kids4Adventure operates from January through July. The 2009 schedule will be posted in November 2008. Please contact us if you have questions; we look forward to new adventures in 2009.
Whitewater Rafting:
The young at heart of all ages will enjoy the
mild and scenic adventure of Whitewater rafting. Refreshing waves and
beginner-friendly rapids make this the perfect setting for a family adventure in
the great outdoors. Even if you’ve never been on a river before, you’ll be
rafting with complete confidence because there’s a professional guide in every
raft. Your guide will show you all you need to know to enjoy a safe and fun time
on the river.
Skiing / Snowboarding: Level I
This is a program designed to help young skiers and snowboarders learn and
appreciate a sport that they will enjoy for a lifetime. It is five hours of
instruction and supervised skiing/riding for beginners through advanced. You'll
learn everything from how to put on the equipment to turning and stopping. It
includes rental equipment (skis, boots and poles or snowboard and boots).
Ski or Snowboard Level II
If you've already learned to turn, are ready to experience the chairlift, and
you’re ready to hit the slopes of beginner trails, this package is for you. It
includes rental equipment ( skis, boots and poles or snowboard and boots).
Rock Climbing:
Introduce your children to the exciting world of rock climbing with eight hours
of instruction in a challenging and safe environment. This adventure class
provides you with the basic skills needed for a lifetime of climbing adventures.
Kids will learn the fundamental skills of basic safety, climbing etiquette,
equipment specifications, knot tying, rappelling, belaying, and climbing
technique. Climbing equipment is provided.
Paintball:
Paintball is an exciting and safe participation
sport for parents to enjoy with pre-teens and teenagers. In its simplest form,
paintball is a mix of capture-the-flag and chess played between two teams. Each
team attempts to capture the opposing team's flag, while avoiding being tagged
with a “splat” or splash of washable “paint”.
Each player has a paintball air gun that propels paintballs (small, gelatin
capsules filled with biodegradable, non-toxic “paint”) at the other team in an
attempt to eliminate opposing players from the game. High quality products and
equipment are used, so that the “paint” easily washes out of clothing.
Horseback Riding:
Saddle up with your children for a trail ride
that will introduce them to the thrill of horseback riding. All trips include
riding instruction for beginners to advanced, mounting, safety, and horse
management. Long pants, and sturdy shoes that cover the ankle, are required for
comfort and safety.
Snow Tube
Hit the
slopes with Living4Adventure and get ready for a fun day of flying down the
snow-covered hills in a giant rubber inner tube. This activity is popular with
kids of all ages, and their parents, who get the chance to act like kids again.
You'll be running to the lift to go up the
slope again and again.
Hiking:
Hiking is one of the most popular and enjoyed outdoor
activities for all ages. Hiking provides a great deal of quality time with your
children and also a wonderful place to teach them to love, enjoy and respect
nature, stimulate their imagination and encourage them to stay active. Properly
fitting hiking boots or tennis shoes are required, and if it's cool layers are
encouraged.
SCUBA Lessons:
We offer a wide variety of programs and classes for young
divers. Our goal is to bring the younger members of our community the adventures
of the underwater world as soon as possible through a safe and educated
approach. We offer a wide range of youth classes beginning at age 8. Starting
with Surface Supplied SCUBA, to snorkeling and skin diving for younger ages and
all the way to the PADI Seal Team for kids ages 8 and up, we have the class
to fit your child's skill and comfort levels. |
