Outdoor adventure
for me began over 15 years ago. I love being outdoors, whether it is rappelling,
kayaking, hiking, skydiving, whitewater rafting, or ATV riding. Each activity
brings something different. Increasing my appreciation for nature through
adventure activities is priceless. I live for it! Being part of
Living4Adventure; is a dream come true for me. Assisting participants to reach
goals, overcome mental barriers, and enhance their life is the ultimate thrill.
The best things in life happen when you put yourself in the right places at the
right times, with the right people. I am very grateful to have the opportunity
to share in the experience of others; it has helped me expand my boundaries in
life. I am fortunate to have traveled to so many great places, Italy, Greece,
Germany, Spain, Africa, Egypt, Israel, Mexico, The Caribbean, Canada, and all
over the United States.
I look forward to making your next Living4Adventure trip fun, easy and
memorable!

Originally from New York, I relocated to the
Washington DC area five years ago. I become a personal trainer because I have
a burning desire for helping people. Joining Living4Adventure fulfills the
excitement and passion that I have for outdoor adventure. No matter what the
activity is, it’s sharing a little of our lifestyle with others in some really
amazing places that makes life complete. The chance to help educate people
about our environment and the safety of outdoor adventure is invaluable. To
take on the unknown, to seek adventure and to accomplish things you have
always wanted to try is the starting point of changing your life for good.
I encourage you to come out and see for yourself what makes Living4Adventure
so special
Lucian
Dean
His vertical career started in July of 1974. He started
climbing trees for a living at the Univ. of Maryland/ College Park at age 16.
He continues in that field today on a part time basis 33 years later.
He has an extensive back ground in rock climbing and
rappelling. He started climbing in the summer of 1976. He has done lead
climbing and has acted as the second or cleaner in West Virginia, Virginia,
Yosemite Valley/ California, Vermont, Honduras, Germany, Georgia, North Carolina
and Alaska.
He joined the Army in January of 1980 and spent 19 years
serving in the Infantry. He obtained the rank of Platoon Sergeant where he was
in charge of a 33 man Combat Infantry Platoon. He spent much of his time around
helicopters doing rappelling, insertions and extractions. Upon retiring from the
Army in 1999 he had become a Certified Rappel Master.
He has been involved in Bridge Day since 1988. Bridge Day
is a one day, once a year gathering in Fayetteville, WV on the second highest
bridge in this country. The New River Gorge Bridge towers above the New River
in the New River Gorge National Park. Lucian has rappelled the 850 feet from
the catwalk to the ground below each year except for 1990 and 2007 each year
there has been a Bridge Day. He has also been the only one to ever rig a High
Line from the bridge up until 2007. These tilted horizontal lines have been
from 300 feet high to 600 feet long up to 2,200 feet long and 800 feet high.
By far his highest vertical accomplishments are the three
trips out to Yosemite National Park in CA. These were in June 2001, 04, 07.
Here he and other vertical experts rigged and then rappelled and ascended the
2,650 foot vertical face known as El Captain. This was done on one single
continuous piece of 7/16” nylon rope.
He looks forward to working
with L4A staff and cliental
